Curd Rice (rice and yogurt)

This is very simple and delicious recipe, mostly made in South Indian cuisine. It is also one of the excellent ways to finish left over rice.

Nutrition value of Yogurt


- 1 cup Rice of your choice
- 2 cups plain yogurt
- Milk 1 cup (optional)
- Dried red chilies
- ½ cup
urad dal soaked in water for 1-2 hours
- Curry leaves 5-6
- Salt
- Oil 2 tablespoons
- Cumin seeds
- Coriander leaves to garnish

1. Cook 1 cup rice
2. Let rice cool
3. If yogurt is very sour you can add milk
4. Beat yogurt for smooth texture, add curd and salt to rice, If too thick add milk/water
5. Heat oil, add cumin seeds, chili, urad dal and curry leaves
6. Cook for 3-5 minutes
7. Add this to rice and stir well
8. Top with chopped coriander leaves

** To cook rice add 1 cup of washed rice with 2 cups of water, bring to boil and when water level is equal to rice level lower heat and cook for 15-20 minutes covered
