Aloo Mattar


This simple recipe can be enjoyed with roti or rice.

Nutrition Vale of Potato, Peas

- 2 cups fresh/ frozen peas
- 1 cup potato peeled and diced in 1 inch pieces
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 4 tablespoon tomato paste
- 2 green chili ( vary as per desired taste)
- 1 inch ginger
- 2 large cloves of garlic
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
- salt to taste
- 2 tablespoon vegetable oil

1. Heat oil in pan, add cumin, green chili, garlic and ginger
2. Add onion and saute
3. Add turmeric and tomato paste while stirring in paste
4. Add salt to taste, cover and cook for 5 minutes
5. Let cool in separate container for couple of minutes, mean while add potato and peas to same pan and start cooking on medium heat
6. grind the cooked Curry to smooth paste and add to the cooking potato and peas
7. Add water for desired thickness
8. cover and cook for 15-20 minutes ( while adding water if necessary) till potatoes are cooked
9. serve hot with roti or rice
