Palak Curry (spinach with curd and Chickpeas)
Spinach is good source of vitamin K & A, folate and iron. This tasty green is also full of other nutrients. It can be used to make roti. curry and snacks. Don't forget to add few spinach leaves in green chutney when you make it next time.
Nutrition value of Spinach
- 1 bunch spinach leaves washes and chopped
- ½ cup chana dal (split chickpea)
- Garlic cloves 2 cloves chopped
- 2 dried red chili
- ½ cup plain smooth yogurt
- Cumin seeds
- Salt
- Turmeric powder ½ teaspoon
- Red chili powder ½ teaspoon ( more for spicy curry)
- Oil 2-3 tablespoon
1. Pressure cook spinach and chana dal and 2 cups water for 20 minutes ( 3 whistles)
2. Mach with masher
3. Heat oil, add cumin, garlic, red whole chilies
4. Add turmeric and red chili powder
5. Add pressure cook spinach and dal cook for 5- 7 minutes
6. Add salt and curd, cook for few minutes
7. Serve with Rice
